Support recipeDraft support replies from your help docs
A customer emails a question your docs already answer. This drafts a reply quoting the right doc. You check it and send.
| Input | Support email, your help-doc text |
| Tools | Help Scout, Front or Gmail, Make, an AI step with your docs pasted in or retrieved |
| Time | Setup 1 to 2 hours, depending on your docs. It saves the most time on repeat questions. That's our estimate. |
Download it
- n8n workflow (.json)Import in n8n: Workflows → Import from file. Then connect your credentials.
- Zapier blueprint (.md)Step-by-step rebuild guide. Zapier has no public import format, so this isn't one-click.
- Open the Zap editorCreate a new Zap and follow the blueprint.
The n8n file has three nodes (trigger, AI step, output) plus a read-me note. We check that its JSON structure is valid, but we haven't run every file in a live n8n instance, so test it with sample data before you switch it on.
Steps
- Trigger: new conversation.
- AI step with the prompt below plus the relevant doc sections.
- Save as a draft or internal note, never auto-send.
- Tag 'ai-draft' so you can review quality weekly.
The prompt
Answer this customer using ONLY the docs below. If the docs don't cover it, reply 'NEEDS_HUMAN' and say what's missing. Under 120 words, friendly, link the doc section used. Docs: {{docs}} Email: {{email}}Sample run
'How do I export my data to CSV?'
Hi! You can export to CSV from Settings → Data → Export. Choose a date range and click Download (guide: /docs/export). Large exports arrive by email within a few minutes. Shout if anything looks off!
Where it breaks
- Confident wrong answers. Keep NEEDS_HUMAN, and never let it auto-send.
- Out-of-date docs. The draft is only as good as the docs, so fix the doc rather than the prompt.
- Anything customer-facing or money-related. Keep a human approval step until you've watched a few dozen runs and trust it.
Tool names and pricing change often, so check each tool's current docs before you build. Times on this page are estimates, not measurements.
