What it does
The current node covers seven resources with 48 operations, plus send-and-wait approvals that pause a workflow until someone clicks in Slack. It connects through a Slack app token or OAuth2.
Its most distinctive partner is the Error Trigger: Slack is a common place for template authors to send failure alerts.

Merged dates from GitHub. A fix only helps once your n8n instance runs a release that includes it, so check your version.
Known problems
- Missing scopes. Each operation needs the matching scope on your Slack app; the docs map operations to Slack API methods so you can find them. Source: n8n docs
- Private channel actions. The groups:write scope was added to OAuth in July 2026 for private-channel actions. Source: n8n PR #35288
- Rate limits in user pickers. Rate limits when loading user lists are handled and real errors shown since July 2026. Source: n8n PR #34743
