Hosts a web form and starts a workflow each time someone submits it.
What it does
You define the fields (text, dropdown, date, file upload, hidden fields and more) and n8n serves the form at its own URL. Add n8n Form nodes after it for multi-page forms or a custom ending page, and protect it with basic auth or n8n user login.
Templates pair it with file nodes (Extract from File, Convert to File, Google Drive): upload a document, process it, return a file.

Merged dates from GitHub. A fix only helps once your n8n instance runs a release that includes it, so check your version.
Known problems
- Test vs production URL. The test URL only works while you run the workflow in the editor; the production URL needs a published workflow. Source: n8n docs
- Pre-filled fields only in production. Query parameters that pre-fill fields are ignored in test mode. Source: n8n docs
- Form path moved in v2.2. From node version 2.2 the path lives in options; a top-level path set through the API or JSON is ignored and the URL ends in the webhook ID. Source: n8n docs
- Old workflows crashing. A June 2026 fix added a default authentication value so older form workflows stopped crashing. Source: n8n PR #32627
- Expressions on later pages. Expressions in fields on later form pages were evaluated correctly only from June 2026. Source: n8n PR #32352
