# Zap blueprint: Telegram AI agent with memory

**This is a blueprint, not an import file.** Zapier has no public format for importing Zaps, so you rebuild these steps by hand in the Zap editor (our estimate: 15-25 minutes).
Full recipe: https://recipeagents.usestarbase.com/recipes/telegram-ai-agent-memory

Zapier has no single "agent + memory + tool" step like n8n's AI Agent node, so this is the closest rebuild:

1. **Trigger:** Telegram, the new-message trigger for your bot (connect the bot token from @BotFather).
2. **Filter by Zapier:** only continue if the message text exists (photos and stickers have no text).
3. **Action:** ChatGPT (OpenAI) **Conversation**. Put the instructions from the recipe's system message in the instructions field, map the message text as the user message, and map the Telegram chat ID into **Memory Key** (for example `telegram-<chat id>`), so each chat keeps its own history. Zapier's help pages say to use Conversation, not Send Prompt, when you need memory.
   - There is no FAQ tool here: paste your FAQ text into the instructions instead.
4. **Action:** Telegram, send a message to the same chat ID with the reply.
5. **Paths or Filter:** if the reply says a person will follow up, send yourself a Telegram message too.
6. **Test each step** with a real message, then turn the Zap on.
