# Zap blueprint: Daily Slack channel digest with Claude

**This is a blueprint, not an import file.** Zapier has no public format for importing Zaps, so you rebuild these steps by hand in the Zap editor (our estimate: 15-20 minutes).

Zapier has no step that reads the last day of a channel in one go, so this version collects messages as they arrive and releases them once a day:

1. **Trigger:** Slack, New Message Posted to Channel. Pick the channel; leave bot messages off.
2. **Action:** Digest by Zapier, Append Entry and Schedule Digest. Title: channel digest. Entry: the message time, the user and the text on one line. Frequency: Daily, at 8:00, Trigger on Weekends: No (weekend messages then arrive in Monday's digest). Zapier's help says the digest step doesn't count toward your tasks.
3. **Action:** Anthropic (Claude), send a message with the recipe's prompt, and map the digest's Current Digest field where the prompt says {{transcript}}. Set a maximum output length of about 1,500 tokens.
4. **Action:** Slack, Send Channel Message, to your digest channel, with Claude's answer as the text.
5. **Test each step** with a few real messages, then turn the Zap on.

## Where it breaks
- Every channel message runs the trigger. Check how your plan counts those runs before you point it at a busy channel.
- Thread replies are not in the channel feed, so the digest only sees top-level messages unless you add them.
- Names come through as Slack mentions; people in the channel where the digest is posted get a notification.
